Tran Thuong Temple Festival 2025 – A Celebrated Traditional Event Honoring the Great Contributions of National Hero Tran Quoc Tuan

Update: 11/10/2025
The Tran Thuong Temple Festival is one of Vietnam’s most distinguished traditional festivals, closely associated with the immense contributions of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan during the resistance wars against the Mongol–Yuan invaders. Held annually, the festival features the solemn ritual of distributing blessed rice—symbolizing the ancient Tran dynasty’s food storage site. It is a meaningful occasion for people to pay tribute to a national hero while expressing hopes for a bountiful harvest and national peace and prosperity. The 2025 festival takes place from October 7–11 (16th–20th day of the 8th lunar month) at Tran Thuong Temple in Tran Thuong Commune.

According to the organizing committee, the highlight of this year’s celebration is a large-scale art performance titled “Echoes of Tran Thuong – A Millennium of Legacy.” Set on a nearly 700m² stage, the program will incorporate advanced audio-visual technology, LED screens, and special effects to vividly recreate the historical spirit and sacred energy of the Tran Thuong land.

Around 300 performers, singers, and dancers will participate in this grand production, featuring prominent artists such as People’s Artist Tu Long, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, People’s Artist Thuy Ngan, Meritorious Artist Le Hang, VTV host My Lan, Sao Mai winner Quach Mai Thy, and runner-up Nguyen Ngoc Anh, along with a host of talented young singers.

Notably, several new songs composed specifically for the event will premiere during the festival, creating a powerful and artistic atmosphere rich in epic themes. These performances will both honor cultural and historical values and evoke pride in the sacred land of Tran Thuong—a site deeply intertwined with Vietnam’s storied past of national building and defense.

The festival activities this year are rich and vibrant, offering a vivid depiction of folk life and the community’s reverence for its roots. Highlights include:

  • A Chau Van (spiritual folk music) performance festival

  • Poetry exchanges

  • A traditional feast-cooking competition to offer to the Saint

  • Ornamental plant exhibitions

  • Various traditional folk games

These events not only bring joy and community spirit but also play a vital role in preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of Tran Thuong—a land steeped in historical significance and vibrant folk beliefs.

Taking place in the autumn season, when the weather is mild and nature at its most abundant, the festival’s atmosphere becomes all the more sacred and poetic. Visitors can immerse themselves in rich cultural activities while deeply feeling the sacred spirit and immense pride in this historically revered homeland of talented and virtuous people.
