The northern province of Ninh Binh served over 470,000 tourist arrivals during the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holidays, marking a year-on-year increase of 37.47%.

Of them, over 411,800 were domestic travellers while the remaining 58,200 were international tourists, representing year-on-year rises of 29.6% and 2.39-fold, respectively.
The tourism sector earned a revenue of more than 600 billion VND, a sharp rise of 71% against the same period last year.
Major tourist destinations welcoming large numbers of visitors include Trang An ecological site, Bai Dinh pagoda, Tam Coc-Bich Dong, Thung Nham bird sanctuary, Mua cave, Cuc Phuong national park, and Hoa Lu old quarter.
The average room occupancy rate at local accommodation establishments reached 85% - 90%.
In a bid to lure more visitors during the five-day holidays from April 27 to May 1, Ninh Binh organised a series of attractive activities, namely the 10th anniversary of UNESCO recognition's Trang An Landscape Complex as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, Trang An Festival 2024, Trang An Marathon 2024 and a special art programme named "Ruc ro Hoa Lu" (Colourful Hoa Lu).
Local accommodation establishments and tourist destinations have wellprepared infrastructure and workforce, and improved the quality of services to serve tourists.
They also strictly implementedregulations related to listing prices and avoided raising prices as well as guaranteeing conditions in terms ofsocial security and order, and food hygiene and safety.
Tourism promotion work was stepped up widely on means of communications and social platforms.
During the holidays, the Department of Tourism constantly inspected the quality of services at tourist sites andaccommodation establishments, so that social security and order, environmental sanitation, and food hygiene and safety and tourism civilisation were ensured.
