In the warm spring atmosphere, many delegations of domestic and foreign tourists have had memorable trips to Trang An Ecological Site, Hoa Lu ancient capital, Bai Dinh pagoda and other famous destinations in the northern province.

Jeffrey Noback, a Dutch visitor who has just finished his boat tour to explore Trang An, was excited to share his feeling: "The landscape here is pristine, peaceful and beautiful with stunning mountain ranges, and clean and fresh waterway. Sometimes, some wild birds suddenly appeared then disappeared. What an interesting trip!".

Like Jeffrey Noback, Kate Samoilova, a visitor from Kazakhtan, have spent three days discovering some tourist attractions in Ninh Binh province.

Based on its tourism potentials, in the past years, Ninh Binh has created numerous unique tourism products to attract international visitors such as historical and cultural tourism, and ecological and landscape tourism.

A study conducted by the Market Department under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism showed that in the period of 2010-2019, the number of international tourists to Ninh Binh saw a two-fold rise, from 600,000 visitors to around 1.1 million, accounting for 6% of the total number of foreign visitors to Vietnam.

At present, after nearly one year of reopening to foreign visitors, Ninh Binh's tourism sector has actively coordinated with other agencies in organising numerous activities to stimulate the market and attract visitors, including traditional festivals, Ninh Binh Tourism Week - Tam Coc Yellow Colour; SEA Games 31 and Trang An Festival - Heritage Connection.

At the same time, the sector launched some new tourism products to keep tourists stay longer. The labour force has been trained regularly in a bid to server tourists better.

According to the Department of Tourism, during the Tet holidays, Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 30,000 international tourists, equivalent to 50% of the figure of the whole 2022. The accupancy rate at accommodation establishments by foreign visitors reached 30-40%.

Nguyen Van Minh, Director of the Ninh Binh Centre for Tourism Information and Promotion, said foreign visitors to Ninh Binh come from many countries and territories. Besides traditional markets such as France, the Netherlands and Germany, the province has also welcomed delegations of tourists from the Republic of Korea, China, and Indian.

In 2023, the centre will continue to step up tourism promotion activities on mass media means; support international guests through websites, emails and hotline with diverse languages such as Vietnamese, English and French; and take part in tourism fairs and seminars both in and outside of the country.

On February 1, 2023, Ninh Binh was ranked 7th among the 10 most welcoming regions on Earth by

The title has proved the satisfaction of international guests when visiting Ninh Binh and it will be a driver for domestic travel firms and tourism workers to improve tourism products, develop more high-quality tourism services in an effort to keep tourists stay longer and to turn Ninh Binh into a safe, friendly and attractive destination.
