After the Lunar New Year Holiday (Tet), Ninh Binh province has received a large number of visitors. In an attempt to avoid overcrowding, price gouging, pick-pocketing and social disorder, the tourism sector has carried numerous measures.

The local tourism sector has been badly impacted from the COVD-19 pandemicfor three years, right on the very first days of 2023, Ninh Binh received a large number of visitors.
According to the Department of Tourism, Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 400,000 visitors during the seven-day Tet holiday, a 2.2-folds rise as compared to the same period last year.
Bai Dinh pagoda attracted the highest number of visitors. It welcomed 162,340 tourists during Tet, and received tens of thousands of visitors on the opening day of the Bai Dinh pagoda festival, which fells on the sixth day of the first lunar month.
Hoang Phuong Ha, a representative of the Bai Dinh pagoda tourism site management board said during and after the Tet holiday, a large number of visitors flocked to the Bai Dinh pagoda, causing congestion at some times.
In a bid to provide safety for visitors and ease overloading, the management board has allocated additional security staff to join hands with public security officers in controlling social security order and guide visitors to queue, not climb over the fence, not jostle or make noise in the pagoda's ground.
These days, Hoang Son Peace Hotel in Ninh Binh city has just served a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. The hotel has carried out optimal measures to serve them carefully.
Doan Minh Thanh, a representative of the hotel, said: "During the peak season, restaurants are full of visitors. They will leave and seek other restaurants and hotels if they have to wait for a long time. So we have recommended them to book a reservation for tables and rooms through the telephone or fanpage. This could help us to prepare enough seats and rooms, as well as serving staff."
Besides, the hotel has paid attention to training its staff and preparing enough materials for making food, he said.
Trang An management board has prepared all conditions to serve visitors in peak season.
In an attempt to avoid overcrowding in the peak season, the Department of Tourism have organised dozens of attractive tourism events throughout the year, launched new tourism products, expanded tourism sites and improved infrastructure at destinations.
Thanks to these measures, Ninh Binh welcomed a stable number of tourist arrivals in all months in 2022. At weekends, room capacity has reached over 80%. This has not only helped visitors enjoy the best services but it also proved Ninh Binh's efforts in building itself into a safe, friendly and attractive destination.
