Dong Thai lake is a natural freshwater lake located in the territory of two communes Yen Dong and Yen Thai, Yen Mo district. It’s about 25km Southeast of Ninh Binh city, covering an area of ​​2,185ha and is one of the large lakes of Ninh Binh province, winding lakeside creates "peninsula" with many beautiful and poetic valleys.

Every morning, walking around the lake, the space becomes clear and pure, the wind is cool and gentle, the lake surface is calm and peaceful. Looking at this peaceful scene, it seems that all sorrows in life have disappeared, people seem to blend closer with nature and the scenery of the peaceful countryside. Taking a boat across Dong Thai lake to the foot of the mountain, visitors go up to visit Ma Tien cave. Follow nearly 100 stone steps, on the side of the mountain to reach the cave entrance. The cave door is up to 15m high, 10m wide, looks like the mouth of a giant fish. The cave floor is low and not flat with many large and small rocks, especially large undulating rocks. From the cave floor, going through a narrow cave entrance is the 2nd floor of the cave with 5 cave chambers. Each cave chamber is a different scene, full of novelties associated with legends such as: Fairy Hand, Pearl Well, etc.
