Following administrative restructuring, Ninh Binh now possesses abundant and diverse natural resources, with renowned attractions such as Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Thien Ha Cave, Hang Mua, Kenh Ga hot springs, and Thung Nham. In addition, ecological destinations like Cuc Phuong National Park, Xuan Thuy National Park, and Van Long Nature Reserve offer rich biodiversity and strong environmental education value. With approximately 90 km of coastline, the province also holds potential for developing marine tourism. Together, these resources create a magnificent and diverse natural landscape suitable for eco-tourism, adventure tourism, leisure, and scientific research.

As a historic imperial land and cradle of early Vietnamese dynasties, Ninh Bình possesses a vast system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, including nearly 5,000 relics, one World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, 10 special national relics, 265 national-level relics, and 784 provincial-level relics. The province also hosts 743 traditional festivals, including one UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - Practices related to the Viet beliefs in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms - along with 33 national intangible cultural heritage elements. These festivals take place year-round, creating a vibrant cultural flow that attracts both domestic and international visitors.

The harmonious combination of natural and cultural resources has made Ninh Binh’s tourism increasingly distinctive, offering a wide range of experiences - from spiritual, historical, and cultural tourism to eco-tourism, resort tourism, and experiential travel.
