Visit Ninh Binh in March and pray for blessings at Bai Dinh pagoda festival

Ninh Binh has long been a land loved by many tourists. Every year, this destination attracts millions of domestic and foreign tourists to explore. This place not only possesses beautiful landscapes but also has unique architectures and an extremely unique cultural heritage.

Ninh Binh in March still retains the fresh, chilly weather of spring. Therefore, many tourists come here not only to have fun but also to enjoy the feeling of spring travel in a charming land and to worship at Bai Dinh Pagoda to pray for their loved ones.

Every year, the Bai Dinh pagoda festival begins on January 6 and lasts until the end of the third lunar month at Bai Dinh pagoda, Gia Sinh commune, Gia Vien district. This is one of the biggest festivals in the North in the early spring days, the opening ceremony for the pilgrimage festivals to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh.

This temple is located about 15km from Ninh Binh city and is the largest temple in Vietnam. This place has set many records such as the tallest and heaviest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam, the temple with the largest Dai Hong Chung, the largest set of three statues and the most stone arhats.

The festival consists of two parts: The ceremony includes the rituals of burning incense to worship Buddha, remembering the merits of Saint Nguyen Minh Khong, offering sacrifices to the god Cao Son and worshiping the Mother of God. The festival part has cultural and spiritual activities such as: procession, calligraphy writing; folk games; visiting caves, visiting pagodas, enjoying the art of singing Cheo, Xam and Ca Tru in the ancient capital, organizing art and cultural exhibitions, introducing Bai Dinh pagoda and Trang An eco-tourism area. Delegates, monks and nuns and tourists joined in the ceremony to release birds, to pray for the peace of the nation, good weather, and prosperous country.

Bai Dinh festival every year always attracts a large number of tourists to participate. The scenery around the temple is as beautiful as the fairyland that makes any visitor coming to this place fall in love. Visitors come here not only to worship and offer incense to the Buddha, but also to travel to the spring, enjoy the scenery, admire the magnificent scenery, immerse themselves in the vast and pure sacred space of the Buddha land.
