Ninh Binh province - a miniature of Vietnam, which is home to various kinds of topography, mountains, plain, and coastal areas, has over 70 percent of its population live in the countryside.

Dong Giao pineapple field covers a vast area spanning thousands of hectares.

Many fields in Ninh Binh were once featured in some of the world'sfamous tourism magazines.  Tam Coc rice paddy field, which was named inthe top 15 destinations by The Telegraph and was also voted as the most attractive destination by Business Insider in 2018.

In addition, many other fields, which have applied new farming models, draw a large number of visitors to enjoy and take photo like Dong Giao pineapple field (Tam Diep city), Ninh Phuc flower village (Ninh Binh city), Dong Son Peach village (Tam Diep city).

Unlike other farming land areas, the Dong Giao pineapple field covers a vast area spanning thousands of hectares. Pineapples are grown all year round. Therefore, whenever coming to the Dong Giao pineapple field, visitors will see pineapples in the vast area, far up to the horizon. Depending on the growth stages of pineapple from bud emergence, flowering to fruit development and fruit ripening, the pineapple field will offer different colors for visitors to enjoy.

The best time to visit the Dong Giao pineapple field is in summer, from April to July, when it comes the main harvesting season.

Not only being soaked in the immense space of the pineapple field, visitors can also smell the ripening fruits and even enjoy pineapples right on the spot.

Hoa Lu ancient capital which is famous for its Tam coc paddy field, now becomes more attractive thanks to stunning lotus ponds.

In 2019, several destinations in Hoa Lu district such as Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Thung Nham ecological site, Hang Mua (Mua Cave) began to plant Japanese lotus varieties.

The Japanese lotus blossoms all year round, and can last for longer time than other species of lotus. Between the beginning of April to November, lotus flowers at these destinations begin to bloom.

Many domestic and foreign travelers visit Hoa Lu during the lotus season in a bid to enjoy the romantic nature here.

They can enjoy, take photo, and eat rice and lotus seed porridge here.

Coming to Ninh Binh, visitors are able to watchamazing fields and can take part in agricultural production activities with local farmers.

Notably, two tourism products "Countryside Tour", and "Working as a farmer in one day" which developed by Ngoi Sao (Star) private travel company in the districts of Nho Quan and Gia Vien.

These programmes offer visitors a chance to join agricultural farming activities such as ploughing, planting andharvesting rice, and catching fish.

Besides, Ninh Binh is also a home to 70 traditional craft villages; and thousands of farms, and household farms. In addition, the province has implemented new farming models on many fields, thus attracting domestic and foreign tourists to visit and take photo such as Dong Giao pineapple field, Ninh Phuc flower field, Dong Son peach village and sunflower fields in Yen Khanh.

The new-style rural area building programme in localities throughout the province has created a new appearance for the countryside with flower streets, murals on the walls. These advantages have helped Ninh Binh to build appealing agri-tourism products.

According to the Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism, the first model of agri-tourism was launched in Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve in Gia Vien district. It has been multiplied in many localities throughout the province.

Gia Van and Gia Hoa communes (Gia Vien district); Son Ha commune (Nho Quan district); Ninh Xuan, Ninh Hai and Truong Yen communes (Hoa Lu district); Yen Mac and Yen Tu communes (Yen Mo district); Dong Son commune (Tam Diep city) are typical localities that has successfully applied this model.

Developing agri-tourism has become a sustainable economic development trend in localities, helping them to fully take advantage of and preserve traditional values.
