The Tourism Department holds its Review Conference on 2020 tourism industry and announcing its new 2021 missions

On the afternoon of 25 December 2020, the Tourism Department held a Review Conference on the tourism industry in 2020 and promoting its new 2021 missions. Mr Bui Thanh Dong – Provincial Party Commissioner cum Director of the Tourism Department attended and presided at the conference. The other attendees include Mr Bui Van Manh – Provincial Party Commissioner cum vice Director of the Tourism Department; Leaders from Culture and Information Offices of the districts; Leaders of the Tourism Association; Leaders of outstanding tourism businesses within the province; officials, public employees and labors in the tourism industry.

At the conference Mr Bui Van Manh – vice Director of the Tourism Department delivered the review report of the tourism industry in 2020, orientations and missions in 2021. The delegates also delivered their speeches. In 2020 the covid 19 pandemic caused bad influences on social-economic situations and tourism was one of the most impacted industries. In 2020 the province welcomed 2.8 million visits which accounts for 37% of the corresponding number of 2019. Among those the domestic visits were 2.6 million visits which is equal 39% of the 2019 number; international visits were 200.000 visits which is equal 21,45% of the 2019 number; The estimated turnover were 1,600 billion dongs which is equal 45% of the corresponding turnover of 2019.

The public tourism management, management, conservation and development of the heritage values and tourism promotion underwent hardships. However, under the instructions from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Party and the Provincial People’s Committee as well as the cooperation from related agencies and the efforts from a collective of officials, public employees and labors in the tourism industry, the assigned missions were completed in every work front. Especially, the Covid-19 pandemic prevention was aggressively and effectively undertaken in order to achieve the double goals: to prevent and curb the pandemic for the safety of local community and visitors lest there are community transmission cases; and to stabilize the current social economic situation and step by step revive the tourism growth trend

In 2021 Ninh Binh is playing host to the National Tourism Year again with the theme “Hoa Lu – The one thousand year Ancient Capital”, the Ninh Binh tourism industry is striving for attracting 7,000,000 visits among those the international visit goal is 750,000. Overnight visitor goal is 650,000. The number of 3 star or higher standard rooms are 1,500. The tourism turnover goal is 4,000 billion dongs.

In order to achieve those goals, Mr. Bui Thanh Dong – Director of the Tourism Department requested all divisions of the Department to proactively cooperate to fulfill the missions of organizing the National Tourism Year 2021 – Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh successfully; to cooperate with other industries and local communities for the instructions of enhancing service quality, to encourage organizations and individuals to invest more in tourism facilities; to renew state management of tourism and heritage management; to ensure security, order, clean environment, culture and civilization at tourism destinations within the province; propel digital transformation in promoting domestic and international tourism; to enhance human resource quality and local community awareness about tourism development and natural resource protection to elevate the Ninh Binh tourism industry to a higher position in the domestic and international tourism map.

On this occasion, collectives and individuals who gained excellent achievements in the tourism industry were rewarded with Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial People’s Committee and Director of the Tourism Department./.
