In response to the developments of Typhoon No.4 and the ongoing rain and flooding, and in order to ensure the safety of tourists, workers, and tourism activities at tourist areas and attractions, Ninh Binh Department of Tourism provides preliminary information on weather conditions, tourism activities, and the temporary suspension or restriction of certain tourism activities in the province, enabling press agencies, businesses, and tourists to proactively stay informed.
During the morning of August 23, representative monitoring stations across Ninh Binh Province recorded rainfall. At 7:00 a.m., temperatures were approximately 26°C in Hoa Lu, 27°C in Phu Ly, and 26°C in Nam Dinh. Rain, thunderstorms, and the typhoon's circulation may affect outdoor sightseeing, waterway activities, cave tours, forest areas, and coastal areas.
Tourist areas and attractions are continuing to closely monitor weather developments and proactively implement safety measures. Sightseeing activities may be adjusted or temporarily suspended whenever actual conditions are deemed unsafe.
The total number of tourist visits to tourist areas and attractions in Ninh Binh Province during the first eight months of 2026 is estimated at 19,787,372, an increase of 24.13% compared with the same period in 2025 and equivalent to 98.93% of the 2026 annual target. Of this total, domestic visitors are estimated at 17,569,777, while international visitors account for 2,217,595.
According to the statistical indicator for the number of tourists visiting Ninh Binh Province, the figure for the first eight months of 2026 is estimated at 8,603,205, an increase of 18.73% year on year. International visitors are estimated at 964,171, up 44.44%.
The number of tourist stays at accommodation establishments is estimated at 4,066,094, an increase of 29.05%, while the total number of tourist nights is estimated at 4,367,654, up 25.01%.
Total tourism revenue during the first eight months of 2026 is estimated at more than VND 20.611 trillion, an increase of 21.80% year on year and 3.05% above the annual target.
In August 2026 alone, the number of visitors to tourist areas and attractions is estimated at more than 983,000, an increase of 29.81%, while total tourism revenue is estimated at nearly VND 1.208 trillion, up 26.03% compared with the same period last year.
Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 4 and the associated rain and flooding, several tourist areas and attractions have proactively suspended or restricted activities to ensure visitor safety. The situation as of the morning of August 23, 2026, is as follows:

The above suspensions and restrictions are proactive and temporary measures intended to ensure tourist safety under adverse weather conditions. Not all tourist areas and attractions in Ninh Binh Province are closed. Areas and services that meet safety requirements may continue operating according to announcements from their respective management units. Reopening will be determined based on weather developments and actual conditions.
Ninh Binh Department of Tourism recommends that tourists:
- Proactively check weather updates and the operating status of individual tourist areas and attractions before traveling.
- Follow instructions from the management boards of tourist areas and attractions and the relevant authorities.
- Do not enter areas where warnings have been issued or where activities have been temporarily suspended.
Ninh Binh Department of Tourism will continue to closely monitor the situation and coordinate with local authorities and tourism establishments to update information and promptly notify tourists, tourism businesses, news agencies, and the press.
