To put into practice the tasks on developing the cultural and tourism industries under Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU dated January 30, 2026 of the Provincial Party Committee's Executive Committee on the strategy for developing Ninh Binh's cultural and tourism industries to 2030, with a vision to 2045, and to carry out the tasks in Plan No. 54-KH/TU dated April 15, 2026 of the Provincial Party Committee and Plan No. 75-KH/ĐU dated May 11, 2026 of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee, the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Provincial Tourism Association, is organizing the 2026 Ninh Binh Provincial Outstanding Housekeeping Skills Contest at Emeralda Resort Ninh Binh from September 28 to 29, 2026. The contest is a practical activity aimed at improving the quality of human resources, standardizing professional skills, and raising the quality of accommodation services across the province.
The contest has drawn 45 contestants, all employees working in the housekeeping departments of accommodation establishments in the province, verified by the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism. These are the workers who directly shape service quality and the experience of visitors at accommodation establishments.
The contest consists of a preliminary round and a final round. In the preliminary round on September 28, contestants will introduce themselves, their workplaces, and their perceptions of the profession, and will also take a multiple-choice test on general housekeeping knowledge. Those with the highest scores will advance to the final round.
In the final round on September 29, contestants will demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and creativity across several segments: stripping, making, and decorating a bed around a theme of their own choosing; presenting the meaning and distinctive features of their decoration; and drawing lots to answer a situational question, with contestants encouraged to respond in English. In addition, a flower arrangement talent segment gives contestants the chance to show their creativity, aesthetic sense, and ability to design the space of a guest room.
Through these segments, the contest assesses not only professional knowledge and hands-on skills but also demeanor, attitude, communication skills, situation-handling ability, and the professionalism of workers in the accommodation sector. It is also an occasion for managers and housekeeping staff at accommodation establishments to network, exchange experiences, update their knowledge, and share effective practices in training, employing, and developing human resources.
Results will be determined based on the average scores of the members of the Judging Panel. The Organizing Committee will award 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, and 5 Consolation Prizes. All participating contestants will receive a Certificate of Participation in the 2026 Ninh Binh Provincial Outstanding Housekeeping Skills Contest.
The 2026 Ninh Binh Provincial Outstanding Housekeeping Skills Contest is one of the tourism sector's practical activities for developing human resources. Through it, Ninh Binh's tourism industry aims to build a skilled, professional, responsible, and friendly workforce that better meets the needs of the tourism business and of visitors. In doing so, it contributes to improving accommodation service quality, building a professional tourism environment, and gradually raising the quality of the destination, toward the goal of developing Ninh Binh tourism in a quality-driven, professional, and sustainable way.
