Ninh Bình Temporarily Suspends Reception of Tourists via Inland Waterway Transport Due to the Impact of Storm No. 3 (WIPHA)

In response to the complex developments of Storm No. 3 (WIPHA) and to ensure the utmost safety for tourists and workers, the Department of Tourism of Ninh Bình Province issued Official Dispatch No. 108/SDL-QLLH on July 21, 2025. The dispatch requires the suspension of all tourist reception activities using inland waterway transport at all tourist areas and sites throughout the province from 1:00 PM on July 21, 2025, until further notice.
Boats at Tam Cốc have been securely moored in preparation for the storm.
Given the forecast of heavy rain and storm conditions from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the Department of Tourism has requested that the management boards of tourist areas and sites proactively notify tourists and travel agencies. They are also instructed to coordinate with relevant authorities to implement safety measures at piers and docks and provide guidance on appropriate travel plans. Operators of inland waterway transport services must safely anchor boats, inspect lifesaving equipment, and prepare rescue coordination plans if necessary.
The Ninh Bình Department of Tourism calls on all relevant units to strictly implement these measures to ensure the highest level of safety for both tourists and residents during the storm.
