Cập nhật: 13/05/2025
On the morning of May 2nd, the Traditional Craft Village Space in Ninh Bình officially opened at Đồng Gừng Bus Station, located within the Tam Cốc – Bích Động Tourism Complex, marking the beginning of a series of events under the framework of Ninh Bình Tourism Week 2025. This space was created with the goal of honoring and preserving traditional craft values while effectively leveraging cultural heritage potential to develop sustainable, practical tourism products.

The craft village space is more than just an exhibition area — it is where heritage comes alive, becoming close and connected to contemporary life. Here, locals and tourists alike can experience, learn, and interact directly with artisans from long-standing traditional villages in the former capital region. It serves as a cultural-tourism highlight for Ninh Bình throughout May.

The Traditional Craft Village Space welcomes visitors with a series of cultural-rich experience activities. The program aims not only to honor the artisanal essence of the former imperial land but also to offer a creative and engaging playground for students and young people.

Activities take place daily from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, each day themed around a different traditional craft, promising an exciting journey of discovery.

The highlight of the first two days (May 12–13) is the hands-on pottery experience from Bồ Bát village — an ancient ceramic craft village located in Yên Thành Commune, Yên Mô District, Ninh Bình. Visitors can participate in traditional ceramic-making processes under the guidance of skilled artisans and take home self-made pieces as memorable keepsakes.

On May 14, guests will have the opportunity to explore the art of Văn Lâm embroidery, a craft village in Ninh Hải Commune known for preserving exquisite hand-embroidery techniques that have existed for centuries.

May 15–16 are dedicated to children, with creative painting activities designed to nurture their artistic talents and love for traditional culture. The finished artworks will be displayed in the Craft Village Space, contributing to a vibrant and emotionally rich exhibition.

May 17 features silk painting using the marbling technique — a method that blends tradition with modern creativity, offering participants a novel and inspiring experience.

In addition, the craft village space includes a display and shopping area for handmade goods, prominently featuring products such as sedge hats and Kim Sơn fans. These items are meticulously handwoven by artisan Đỗ Văn Tấn, who has spent many years dedicated to the craft and has introduced Ninh Bình’s traditional handmade products at fairs both domestically and internationally
