Rice fields in Tam Coc area of the northern province of Ninh Binh are among the most beautiful ones in Vietnam. A giant painting created on the rice fields with the name “Fish Jumping Over Dragon Gate", promises to be a unique attraction welcoming visitors to Tam Coc, Ninh Binh.
Previously, Ninh Binh impressed visitors with different artworks on the Tam Coc rice field such as a giant flag-shape rice field or carps looking at the moon in 2022 and 2023, respectively. This year, on an area of nearly 10,000m2 in Hang Hai area, farmers will create on the rice fields a folk painting "Fish jumping over the dragon gate".
Tam Coc rice field is famous as one of the five most beautiful rice fields in Vietnam with a total area of over 18 hectares winding along the poetic Ngo Dong river.
To make this painting, right from the Lunar New Year, the Tam Coc Bich Dong Tourist Area Management Board has closely coordinated with local authorities to urge and guide farmers to go to the fields to plant rice in time for the crop. In particular, this year's painting of Fish overcoming the Dragon Gate has many complex details, interwoven colors that require planting rice according to instructions, pruning, trimming, care and timely editing. Thai Xuyen rice variety with the characteristics of hard plants, good resistance to pests and diseases, suitable for local soil, continues to be planted to realize the idea of the painting. Farmers are supported with all rice varieties, fertilizers, instructions on how to care for and prevent pests and diseases, ensuring the rice ripens and is most beautiful, promising a unique painting.
The art painting of Fish overcoming the Dragon Gate on the Tam Coc rice fields will certainly be one of the highlights of the "Golden Colors of Tam Coc - Trang An" Tourism Week in 2025, promising to be unique tourism products, attracting domestic and international tourists to Ninh Binh.
