On the evening of January 19, at Dinh Tien Hoang De Square, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ninh Binh province solemnly held the Ceremony to announce the establishment of Hoa Lu city and recognize Hoa Lu city as meeting the criteria of a type I urban area.
Attending the ceremony were comrades of the Party Central Committee: Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President-General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, former Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee; Vu Hai Quan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University. Also attending were comrades of the Party Central Committee, representatives of ministries, departments, and central agencies; leaders of provinces and cities; representatives of military units and central agencies located in the province.
International delegates included Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam; Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, Chief Representative of UNESCO in Vietnam.
At the ceremony, reporting on the process of formation and construction of Hoa Lu city, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Quang Ngoc stated: Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh is a land with a rich culture - history and revolutionary tradition. Throughout thousands of years of building and defending the country, this place has always been a strategic location, marking the long marches to the South and North to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Vietnamese people.
He emphasized: The event announcing the decision to establish Hoa Lu city and recognizing Hoa Lu city as a type I urban area, which was solemnly held today, has a particularly important meaning, affirming a new threshold of qualitative development of the rural-urban territory of Ninh Binh, adding the type of heritage urban area to the urban network nationwide.
