Non Nuoc Mountain has the ancient name of Duc Thuy Son, which means "a Tra bird bathe in a river of silver water". With an altitude of over 100m, Non Nuoc Mountain is located in Thuy Son Park, right at the confluence of Van Sang River with Day River in the East of Ninh Binh city - this is an interesting tourist destination for visitors when visiting Ninh Binh.
To get to the top of Non Nuoc Mountain, visitors have to step through 72 stone steps divided into 5 levels. The higher you go, the more fresh and airy the air becomes, making people feel like they are lost in a fairyland. The top of the mountain is relatively flat, the trees are green, in the middle of the mountain is Nghinh Phong Cac built in the 14th century, which is convenient for tourists to rest and enjoy the scenery. Standing on the mountain, visitors can see a part of Ninh Binh city center and two bridges spanning the Day River.
Non Nuoc Mountain is not only a scenic spot, a mountain of poetry, but it is also a historical witness, a testament to the unyielding spirit of our army and people. On the top of the mountain, the monument Luong Van Tuy was built to commemorate the great historical event in 1929. Not only that, there are still many solid blockhouses built by the French on Non Nuoc Mountain today to control the South-North road and waterway traffic.
