Introduction of the memorial house of comrade late secretary of the Cochinchina regional party committee - Ta Uyen

The Cochinchina uprising (1940) with the heroic sacrifices of loyal communist soldiers, including Comrade Ta Uyen - the outstanding son of the heroic Yen Mo homeland, forever shining with an indomitable fighting spirit and and unyielding spirit to devote himself to the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese Party and nation.

 

Comrade Ta Uyen was born on August 5, 1898 in Coi Tri village, Yen My commune (Yen Mo district). In 1916, he passed the entrance exam (primary level in the French colonial period). After that, he went to school and worked as a surveyor (land surveyor).

In the summer of 1927, he was enlightened to the revolution. In October 1927, he joined the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association in Coi Tri village, Yen My commune, Yen Mo district and was appointed a cell secretary. During his secret activities, he took the alias of Dong and Thanh; he took advantage of his job as a surveyor to travel to many places in the districts of Yen Mo, Yen Khanh, Gia Khanh, and Kim Son to propagate the revolution and build foundations. Wherever he went, he aroused in the masses the suffering of the people who lost their country, calling on everyone to unite to fight. He composed many poems denouncing the brutal exploitation of the French colonialists towards the working people and arousing the spirit of solidarity and belief in the victory of the revolution.

From October 1927 to June 1929, he worked to build the revolutionary movement in Yen Mo, Gia Khanh and Yen Khanh districts. In June 1929, the Indochinese Communist Party cell in Coi Tri village was established (this was one of the first three Communist Party cells in Ninh Binh), he was appointed the cell secretary of the Party.

On November 19, 1929, he was arrested by the French colonialists. In 1930, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison and sent to Con Dao. At Con Dao prison, although the enemy used all kinds of tortures, he always maintained the will of a communist party member, resolutely fighting the enemy. He participated in the establishment of the first Communist Party cell in the prison and was one of the first members of the Con Dao prison cell. Some comrades who were in Con Dao prison with comrade Ta Uyen recounted emotionally: "When I went to Con Dao, I knew Comrade Ta Uyen, I and a few other comrades were detained in prison cell 2, and comrade Ta Uyen had bitten his finger to draw blood and wrote four words on the wall: "Loyalty as the most", vowing with the constant heart to the Party.

In 1935, comrade Ta Uyen and 5 other comrades escaped from Con Dao prison to the South for revolutionary activities.

In 1936, he was a member of the Cochinchina Party Committee, Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee. From 1937 to 1940, he was Secretary of the Can Tho Interprovincial Party Committee (Can Tho, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Rach Gia, Chau Doc, Long Xuyen, Sa Dec provinces). From July 1940, he worked as Secretary of the Cochinchina Party Committee.

In November 1940, he directly led the Cochinchina uprising. On November 22, 1940, he was arrested by the French colonialists at the bot Catinat. On December 10, 1940 (November 12, 1940 according to the lunar calendar), he heroically died in the imperial prison.

The spirit of the Cochinchina uprising, the sacrifice of Comrade Ta Uyen and many communist soldiers have written a glorious and heroic history of the resilient Southern, the steadfast and indomitable tradition of the communists, fueled the revolutionary fire in the August Revolution and the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland.

The life of revolutionary activities of Comrade Ta Uyen is a shining example of loyalty, heroism, courage, and lifelong dedication to the nation and country. To commemorate the great merits of Comrade Ta Uyen, on January 29, 2013, the memorial house for the late Secretary of the Cochinchina Regional Party Committee was inaugurated right in his hometown. The project was built with the attention and support of the Party Committee and the people of Ho Chi Minh City and the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Ninh Binh province. The memorial house for the late Secretary of the Cochinchina Party Committee is a provincial-level cultural and historical relic with an area of ​​more than 1216m2 with a green campus surrounding the three-compartment ancestral temple. The space inside is commodiously designed in the traditional architectural style. The middle compartment is a place to worship and remember the merits of Comrade Ta Uyen, the two sides are to display memorabilia such as paintings, photos, books, and valuable documents about his revolutionary activities.

The memorial house for Comrade Party Secretary of the Cochinchina Regional Committee Ta Uyen is a red address to educate the revolutionary tradition for today's young generation.
