Cuc Phuong National Park is located on the territory of 3 provinces of Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa, this place is not only special for a green vegetation that has been nurtured and developed over thousands of years, but also is the residence of hundreds of rare animal species, Cuc Phuong is one of the precious gems of forest ecology that has become a favorite destination of many domestic and international tourists.
Cuc Phuong is Vietnam's first national park established in 1962, about 120km from Hanoi. With an area of over 22,000 hectares (of which ½ of the area is limestone), Cuc Phuong is a typical epitome of Southeast Asia's tropical forests, home to over 2,200 higher plants and mosses. There are many rare orchid varieties, medicinal plants and many species of plants recorded in the Red Book of Vietnam), 122 species of reptiles, 66 species of fish, nearly 2,000 species of insects, 135 species of mammals (many rare and precious animals such as Delacour's langur Langur, Clouded Leopard, Tibetan Bear) and more than 300 species of resident birds.
With tropical rain, green all year round, Cuc Phuong has a very cool climate, especially in summer.
