The Princess Nhoi Hoa Shrine (from Laos) is located in Tây Hoa Lư Ward, Ninh Bình Province - a historic land rich in tradition and culture, where numerous spiritual heritage sites converge with Vietnam's nation-building and nation-preserving legacy. This shrine is not merely a religious structure of exceptional historical and cultural value, but also a living symbol of solidarity, loyalty, and enduring friendship between the Vietnamese and Laotian peoples.
According to historical records, during the reign of King Le Thanh Tong, in the resistance against the Champa invasions, the imperial court and people of Dai Viet received support from the Kingdom of Laos. The Laotian King dispatched Princess Nhoi Hoa, along with several generals and a war elephant corps, to Dai Viet to participate in training and support the military and people of Dai Viet in combat. The resistance campaign achieved victory, contributing to the protection of national independence and stability.

After completing her mission, while returning to her homeland, the Princess fell ill and passed away in the Đền hill region (Ninh Bình). The imperial court of Dai Viet organized the Princess's burial, constructing a mausoleum and shrine to commemorate her achievements and demonstrate respect for Vietnam-Laos friendship.

The Princess Nhồi Hoa Shrine was constructed following the traditional architectural style of Vietnamese shrines and temples, harmonizing with the natural landscape and local cultural environment. The overall architecture bears dignified and ancient characteristics, reflecting the people's veneration for this historical figure.

The shrine's main components include the ceremonial gate, shrine courtyard, front worship hall, inner sanctuary, and auxiliary structures. The shrine's atmosphere is serene and spiritually uplifting, creating a sense of purity for visitors and pilgrims. It serves not only as a place of spiritual practice for the local community but also as a destination for understanding history, culture, and Vietnam-Laos friendship.
Annually, traditional ceremonies are held at the Princess Nhồi Hoa Shrine to commemorate her contributions and pray for national prosperity and people's happiness, favorable weather, and a peaceful, prosperous life. These ceremonies are conducted solemnly, adhering to local customs and traditions, attracting widespread participation from the community and visitors.
In addition to the ceremonial aspects, cultural activities and folk arts programs enrich the spiritual life of the community, while creating spaces for exchange and intergenerational bonding. These activities not only preserve traditional culture but also promote the heritage site's image to numerous visitors both within and outside the province.
In the current context, as Vietnam-Laos relations continue to strengthen and develop, the Princess Nhồi Hoa Shrine takes on greater significance in promoting cultural exchange and fostering mutual understanding between the peoples of the two nations. It also serves as an important venue for conducting propaganda and traditional education activities for students, intellectuals, and party members and cadres.
With its distinctive historical, cultural, and spiritual values, the Princess Nhồi Hoa Shrine was recognized by the People's Committee of Ninh Bình Province as a Provincial-Level Historical and Cultural Heritage Site in 2007, contributing to traditional education and fostering the special solidarity between the Vietnamese and Laotian peoples. In the coming period, alongside conservation and restoration of the heritage site, enhanced promotion and introduction of the Princess Nhồi Hoa Shrine linked with historical narratives, legends, and the value of Vietnam-Laos friendship will create a distinctive character and unique imprint for Ninh Bình's tourism.
Throughout history, Ninh Bình has not only served as a strategically important region for military and political purposes but also as a convergence point and repository of regional cultural values. The preservation and promotion of the Princess Nhồi Hoa Shrine in Ninh Bình have enriched the local spiritual and cultural heritage, while affirming the historical depth of the traditional Vietnam-Laos friendship relationship.
