Every year, the Hoa Lu – Thung Lau Festival attracts a large number of tourists and locals who come to participate in various cultural, sports and artistic activities in national identity. The Hoa Lu – Thung Lau Festival will be organized from February 7 to February 9, 2025 (corresponding to the 10th to the 12th day of the first lunar month). The festival consists of two main parts: the ceremonial section, which includes incense offerings to honor and express gratitude to past predecessors and the festive section, featuring exciting activities that promise memorable experiences for visitors. On February 7, 2025 (the 10th day of the first lunar month), the festival will kick off with the Ninh Binh Provincial Traditional Wrestling Tournament, gathering skilled wrestlers from across the province for intense competitions. Additionally, the "Thousand-Year Reed Flowers" Contest dedicated to preschool children, will showcase the symbolic beauty of Hoa Lu through stunning reed flower arrangements and meaningful presentations. Meanwhile, the "Poetry Wall Newspaper" Contest for elementary school students will provide a platform for young participants to express their creativity and love for their homeland through colorful and artistic wall newspapers. As night falls, the Cultural Exchange Night will bring together villagers from different hamlets of Gia Hung Commune creating a warm and lively artistic atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Continuing the festive spirit, on February 8, 2025 (the 11th day of the first lunar month), visitors will be treated to captivating performances at the Gia Vien District Folk Dance Competition 2025. This Event provides a platform for participating teams to showcase their creativity through dance, blending traditional and modern elements to create a vibrant and colorful stage.
On February 9, 2025 (the 12th day of the first lunar month), the festival will conclude with the "Reed Flag Dance" Competition for middle school students. This activity is not only a stage for young talents to shine but also an opportunity for them to learn more about the heroic history of Dinh Bo Linh’s uprising, fostering a deep sense of national pride.
