Located inside Trang An eco-tourism area, there is a small temple nestled at the foot of the mountain, simple and peaceful. That is Duyen Ninh pagoda. The temple is located in Chi Phong village, Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province.
Duyen Ninh is an ancient pagoda built during the Dinh - Early Le dynasties around the 10th century. According to folk legend, this is where Princess Le Thi Phat Ngan, daughter of King Le Dai Hanh, made a promise and died. husband and wife relationship with General Ly Cong Uan. Later, this place was also the place where Prince Ly Phat Ma (later King Ly Thanh Tong) was born in 1000. After King Ly Thai Tong quelled the Khai Quoc Vuong rebellion, the pagoda's name was changed to Duyen Ninh Pagoda. Queen Le Thi Phat Ngan practiced and took care of the grave of her father, Emperor Le Dai Hanh, at Duyen Ninh Pagoda in the last years of her life. And it was also at this pagoda that the Queen cooperated with many couples, making Duyen Ninh Pagoda become the best pagoda to pray for love in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu.
Right from the entrance gate, visitors can see the meticulousness and sophistication in the design. The domes and communal house roofs are sculpted with elaborate motifs of high difficulty along with sharpness and sophistication in each pattern. In particular, the temple "leans back" on the mountain, so the atmosphere and space are filled with natural breath, airy and fresh.
The word "fate" in Buddhism is not only limited to love between couples, but also other good and great feelings. In one life, the person who meets that person is predestined. For that reason, many people come to Duyen Ninh Pagoda not just for couples, but to share stories about family, parents, and friends, as a way to find balance in their lives.
