The northern province of Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 160,000 tourists in the three-day holiday of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1), an increase of 150% compared to that of the same period last year.

Of the total, there are 153,950 domestic visitors and 6,050 foreigners, said Director of the provincial Tourism Department Bui Van Manh, adding that they mainly come from surrounding provinces in the north region.

The gradual return of tourists has contributed to the early recovery and development of the local tourism industry, and this would help Ninh Binh to fulfill the goal of welcoming 2.5 million visitors, including 100 international guests in 2022.
