Temple of Truong Han Sieu was built next to the foot of Non Nuoc mountain at the confluence of Day and Van rivers, worshiping cultural celebrity Truong Han Sieu.
Legend has it that Truong Han Sieu was born in Phuc Am village, Yen Ninh district, on Truong Yen road (the former capital of Hoa Lu) now Phuc Thanh ward, in Ninh Binh city. Truong Han Sieu was a famous celebrity of the Tran dynasty, a brilliant man, full of martial arts and rich in patriotism. He used to hold many official positions during Tran Dynasty and was revered by the Tran kings as "Teacher". He was the main advisor to Tran Hung Dao and participated in many victories in two resistance wars against the Mongol - Nguyen invaders. He is also a person who has made many contributions to the country when he is the one who has contributed to composing Hinh Thu Code, laying the foundation for the feudal system of Vietnam to gradually operate according to law and discipline. When he died, the people here set up a temple in the southeast near his grave to commemorate the merits of the national hero. In 1998, the locals had it rebuilt to pay homage to him
Legend has it that the temple worshiping Han Sieu is famous and sacred, people come here often to seek fame and education. It is believed that sincerely worshiping and praying here will bring an intelligent, lucid mind and pass in exams and studies. Therefore, every New Year's occasion or the full moon week, the first day, especially during the exam season, this place is always crowded with locals and tourists to worship and celebrate.
